Fundraising-made-easy with Square

We are very excited to announce (at long last!) that Square readers are now available for LCC fundraising opportunities.

On the summary page of your chaplaincy service, there is a new section at the bottom left-hand side labelled Square Device Requests (see image). This will allow you to activate a Square reader for fundraising events in your school community, such as bake sales and trivia nights.

Please be aware there is a 1.9% fee taken by Square on each transaction, and GST will be applied to all transactions, so this device needs to be used for GST-relevant transactions only – hence it won’t be suitable for all circumstances.

You’ll need to download the Square app on your mobile phone, and you’ll be issued a Device Code from SU a few days after you’ve placed your request. Be aware that your Device Code will expire a few days after being issued. We recommend setting up your Square device a few days before your event, just to make sure everything is in working order.

Please also note you will need to source your own Square reader (from Office Works or JB Hi Fi etc.). They retail for roughly $65.

If you have any questions, please contact our team at support@su.org.au.
