From the CEO – Term 1, 2021

Welcome back to another new year! This time last year, nobody could have predicted what was to come in just a few months time.

Here we are at the beginning of another new year, and while there remains many uncertainties, we do know that we do not face these uncertainties alone.

And, most importantly, we know our young people will have someone walking beside them through whatever is to come – and you are a big reason behind that.

Thanks to you and your tireless support of your local chaplains, we are bringing hope to our most vulnerable young people – and I’m so thankful for this.

I’m also incredibly excited by what this year holds for your chaplains and school communities on a broader level. As Jenni shared in her Director’s Update, we’ve got some developments on the horizon, which we hope will mean more young Australians will be supported in the year ahead and beyond as we explore what a national SU movement looks like.

We’re still working through the details with our sister movements throughout Australia, but I do very much look forward to sharing with you more updates when we have some more concrete information in the coming months.

I truly hope this year is filled with blessings for you and your family, and thank you for all you do to make a difference for our young people.

If 2020 has shown us anything, it’s that when our communities work together we all benefit – and that’s the kind of communities we want to create for our young people. And your work today is making this a reality for our young generation – so thank you.

Bless you,

Peter James
