Unless you are a teenager asking your parents for money, fundraising can be daunting and we can see big obstacles. But fundraising can also be enjoyable, and it can give people opportunity; to become involved in something meaningful outside their own life, to work towards a shared vision, to be part of fun community events, for businesses to engage in community development and philanthropic partnerships, for organisation and leadership skills to develop and, specifically, for us to increase the capacity and resources of a local chaplaincy service so that it can have a greater impact in a school community.
To help you fundraise, event fundraising packages have been developed for a:
- Chaplaincy dinner
- Golf day
- Trivia night
- MAD (Music, Art, Dessert) night
- Curry and games night
- Trash’n Treasure
- and promotional material for a sausage sizzle.
The packages are basically starter packs and include event overviews, promotional material you can edit, budget templates, work breakdown lists, sponsorship guidance and other tools that can be used to help start organising an event. It is up to you how you use the material. All the events are community based so that guests can participate in something fun and hear firsthand about the work and impact of their local school chaplain.
