COVID Impact for LCCs

There’s no denying that many of you have experienced difficulty in the fundraising space this year. We have unfortunately seen a drop in LCC donations of approximately 30% due to the impact of COVID.

In this edition of Chappy Matters we’ve collated some helpful and creative COVID-safe fundraising resources – be sure to check these out!

To further support your efforts in this space, SU has created a COVID-safe checklist for all LCC Events and created a COVID-Safe Officer Role Statement, so that when you’re running an event you can appoint someone to think about the safety of that event. These actions will keep us all safe going forward.

The other exciting news is while in the past LCCs have not been the primary audience for funds raised by corporate campaigns (the money has been distributed amongst the Camping and Training ministries), we are hoping to include LCCs in our future campaigns.

SU QLD’s Fundraising Manager, Jon Thorne, speaks about it below.

In the New Year, we are looking forward to working closer with LCCs in the fundraising space. SU QLD is currently working on creating different types of communications, including the ability to send personalised emails to local chaplaincy supporters. This means that going forward, we will be able to work closely with your local chaplaincy committee to raise funds to help keep your chaplain in your school community for more hours each week. It’s a very exciting step which means that collectively we will be able to reach more people by working smarter, not harder. We will have more updates about this in 2021.
