From the CEO – Term 4, 2020

Welcome to Term 4. I want to say a very big thank you to all of you who have continued to support your chaplains throughout this challenging and uncertain year. We’re on the home stretch now.

It goes without saying that 2020 was a different kind of year. I know COVID-19 has interrupted many of our plans (and you all have felt the pushback in fundraising opportunities), but I am so thankful for the resilience you’ve shown in the face of these challenges. Your chaplains could not do what they do without your backing, so thank you for another great year.

As we enter into our final term I pray that you finish strong, but I also hope you get some time to relax and enjoy your loved ones as the Christmas season approaches. This year has highlighted the importance of family and loved ones in times of crisis, and I’m grateful that SU QLD also places such a high emphasis on the family unit.

There’s no denying it’s been a tough few months – but we don’t have to do it alone. And that’s the lesson your chappies are daily teaching our young people because you help make it possible.

Thank you for being there this year and doing what you do. I look forward to partnering with you again in the New Year as we explore new opportunities to expand our support to the children, young people and families in our communities.

God bless you,

Peter James
