From the CEO – Term 3, 2020

What a year 2020 has been so far.

I don’t think any of us could have anticipated the changes and concerns that our world has experienced over the past few months – but I’m so proud of the way your chaplains have held fast in the middle of the storm.

From assisting teachers and parents as they tackled the pressures of home-schooling, to showing up every day for our young people through a variety of channels – your chaplain’s professionalism, competency and creativity has been on display for all to see these past few months.

While we were saddened by the decision to cancel our regular Winter Camps, we know that keeping our campers, directors and volunteers as safe as possible was more important. The four new online camps that we launched proved to be quite a hit among our young people – I heard that the Lego Camp was a crowd favourite!

I’m extremely proud of the way we have all adapted without hesitation to meet the changing landscape, and I’m especially thankful for you and the support that you provide to our chaplains across Queensland. Thank you for the role you play in shaping the next generation of world-changers – I’m grateful to serve alongside you.

Bless you,

Peter James
